William Hunnicutt Jr.

William Robert (Billy) Hunnicutt, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, August 10,2021 at age 83 of complications from a fall. There will be no services at this time.

Billy Hunnicutt was born in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School in 1956. Over the following years, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, gained some college experience, and had various jobs at banks and  in bookkeeping. As an avid member of the Jaycee's, he participated in many of their activities and won several awards which included being named to the JCI Senate. One particular interest to him was the America's Junior Miss program to which he devoted time and effort from its beginnings.His greatest enjoyment came from gathering with his friends, playing with sports cars, listening to music, and living independently at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents W.R. Hunnicutt, Sr. and Lucille Vandiver Hunnicutt. Survivors include a sister, Mary Ann Gerhardt( Robert A.) of McComb, MS; a nephew, William F. Massey III. (Elinor) of Meridian, MS; a niece, Margaret Ann Massey of New Orleans, LA; one grand nephew; and two grand nieces.
