Services for Agnes Norsworthy Lewis was held Sunday, December 8th, 2:00 p.m., at James F. Webb Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Lanier officiating. Burial followed at Meridian Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lewis, 96, of Meridian, passed away Friday, December 6th at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Agnes was born in Crandall, MS on November 29, 1923 to Ella Capps Norsworthy and John James Norsworthy. She was a long-time member of Northcrest Baptist Church. She will be most remembered for being a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, famous for her egg custard and fried apple pies.

Agnes was a 50 year member of The Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron and various other stations through the years. After earning her proficiency degree, Agnes was elected and served as District Deputy Grand Matron for the Grand Chapter of Mississippi in 1979. When Oakland Heights chapter disbanded, Agnes joined Meridian Chapter 11.

She is survived by children; Donald Lewis (Doris) and Joane Mackey (Danny); grandchildren, DeNay Farrar (Shawn), Jay Mackey (Teresa), Dawn Hull (Ryan), and Joy Sharp (Jason); great grandchildren, Bailey Dial (Ross), Courtney Rosewall (Josh), Matthew Mackey, Jordyn Hull, Brooks Hull, Madelyn Sharp, Luke Sharp, and Rhett Sharp; great great grandchildren, Alana Rosewall, Mackenzye Rosewall, M. E. Beth Dial, and Lennon Dial; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents, John James and Ella Capps Norsworthy;husband of 53 years, Joseph “Jodie” Lewis; great granddaughter, Bethany Price; brothers, Archie Norsworthy and Evan Norsworthy; sisters, Gertie Mae Norsworthy, Geneva Williamson, Bertha Jackmond, Rosie Williams, Lola Fleming, and Sybil Rhodes.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Jay Mackey, Jason Sharp, and Shawn Farrar; and great grandsons, Ross Dial, Matthew Mackey, Luke Sharp, and Rhett Sharp.

Visitation was held two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
