Annie B. Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie B. Johnson will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Webb & Stephens – North, with her daughter-in-law, Crystal Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to service.

Mrs. Johnson, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on June 22.

Annie B. Johnson was born to Leroy Sr and Ida Mae Nelson on March 16, 1944. She showed a strong belief in God at an early age and attended Morning Glory Baptist Church. She attended elementary and high school in the Coahoma County, Mississippi school system and received her diploma in Chicago, Illinois.

Annie met and later married Cornelious Johnson, Sr. To this union was born three boys: Cornelious, Jr., Darryl and Devonti.

Annie was a classy woman who loved traveling and spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping, especially with her sister. Annie was an Licensed Practical Nurse and loved her job of caring for her dear patients. She was straight forward and giving and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and loyal friend.

Left to cherish Annie's memory are her sons, Darry L. Johnson (Orea) and Devonti S. Johnson (Crystal); stepdaughter, Queenaminata Samba; grandchildren, Latasha, Jermaine, Joshua, Kinesha, Miracle and Antonio; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as sisters, Ollie, Elnora (Leonard) and Ella Mae.

Pallbearers will be Jermaine Johnson, Corey Gates, Rico Baker, Billie “B.J.” Barrett, Chase Jackson, Tyler Clark and Maxwell Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Antonio Johnson, Derrick Gates, Joshua Johnson, Leroy Nelson III, Ezra Nelson, Eddie Ross, Darnell Nelson, Johnny West and Jerome West.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all of you for your support and wonderful acts of kindness and thoughtfulness.
