Funeral services for Mr. Anthony "Tony" Altomare will be held Thursday at 1pm in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home. Pastor Lou Hoffman will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church cemetery in Preston, MS.
Mr. Altomare, 72, of Meridian passed away Saturday. He was the son of Adolf and Mary Altomare.
He was a longtime salesman in the automotive industry. Mr. Altomare will be remembered by family and friends as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle and dear friend.
He missed the love of his life, Linda, to whom he was married twenty-five years. She has been passed away twenty-five years and now they are reunited forever. Mr. Altomare served his country in the U.S. Navy. He loved God and his family, had a passion for golf and other sports, mainly football and baseball. He was an avid Alabama football fan as well as a Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints fan. In baseball, he enjoyed following the Philadelphia Phillies. His music tastes ranged classical to old rock to Frank Sinatra. He liked classic cars, peaceful country surroundings, good seafood and "soul food," and occasionally a good Cinnamon Whisky drink.
He is survived by his children Valarie Roberge and husband John, Joey Altomare and wife Katherine; grandchildren Mandy Jones, Ethan and Matthew Roberge and Presley Altomare; siblings John Altomare, Theresa McMullen, Joanne McGinnis, and Mike Altomare. Mr. Altomare is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.
In addition to his precious wife Linda, he was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Mary Altomare; sisters Pat Jones, Marie Lewocz and brother Joe Altomare.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Friends may sign the online register at www.stephensfunerals.com.
