Barbara Jean Knight

Graveside services for Barbara Knight will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Gary Morris and Bro. Joey Shelton officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:30-12:30 on Wednesday, December 20 at Webb & Stephens – North.

Mrs. Knight, age 86, of Meridian, passed away on December 16 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was married to her husband, Billy, for sixty-five years. They owned Knight’s Country Store in their community where she enjoyed working and meeting new people. Barbara deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a very active member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and loved her church family.  Barbara tried to be an encourager to all, and her sweet, gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Brenda Harkins (Travis); her grandchildren, Brian Harper, Amanda Steakley (Josh), Angela Woodall (Josh), Brent Holloman, Dusty Tolbert (Kristin), and Kelli McQueen (Josh); great-grandchildren, Brandon Harkins (Brittney), Hunter Steakley, Matthew Woodall, Breanna Steakley, Haley Steakley, Jacob Woodall, Brock Holloman, Braxton McQueen and Riley McQueen, and Damian Harper, and one great-great-grandchild, Bethany Harkins; her sister, Jane Moore (Rod) and Sandra Jones (McQua).

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Billy Knight; daughters, Beverly Harper and Beth Robinson; great-granddaughter, Emily Brooke Woodall.
