Barbara Smith

Barbara Arlette Slayton Smith, age 68, died peacefully in her favorite recliner at her home May 12, 2019. She is well known for making many women around Meridian beautiful as a beautician for over 40 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracie (David) Latting; son, Doug Sellers; grandchildren, Chase, Trevor (Megan), Weston, and Kaelyn Latting; her siblings, Tommy (Allison) Slayton, Donnie (Brenda) Slayton, Peggy (David) Mixon, MaryAnn Ulmer, and Martha (Jim) Follis; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Hilda Slayton and two husbands, Kenny Wayne Sellers and Jim Smith.

Mrs. Smith chose body donation so only a memorial service will be held.

The memorial will be at 2:00 p.m. on May 18, 2019 at New Harvest Church in Collinsville.
