Funeral Services for Barbara Ann Thomas will be held Friday, August 11th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Webb & Stephens North Funeral Home, with Interment to follow at Jones Chapel Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 10th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Webb & Stephens North Funeral Home.
Barbara Ann passed away on Monday, August, 7th, 2023 at her residence of Meridian, with her family by her side. Barbara Ann was born December 22nd, 1942 in Energy, Mississippi to the late Lee Bryant Chatham and Lorene Moffett Lee.
She married the love of her life, James Otis “Bud” Thomas on June 25th, 1959.
After spending a momentary time in Texas, they moved back to Mississippi where they raised their 3 children. She retired from the United States Postal Service.
She enjoyed attending Shady Grove Church of God. Over her lifetime, she was a music leader for three different churches. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to read, sew, sing and worship, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Otis “Bud” Thomas, her sister Carol Finley, her children, Kimberly Kelly, Jay Thomas, Kristi Mabry, her half-brother Greg Chatam, her half-sister Tina Cumberland, 7 grandkids, and 15 great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, and grandmother Willie May Hughes.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Hinson, Tyler Swanner, Nicholas Swanner, Dylan Thomas, Michael Mabry III, Randy Mathis, Bobby Bellanger, and JB Fuller. Honorary pallbearer will be Zachary Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, you may express your love for Barbara Ann by making a donation to the Shady Grove Church of God Building Fund.
