Funeral Mass for Mrs. Betty Powell will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Father Matthew Simmons officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 - 11a.m. at Webb Funeral Home and interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Powell, of Meridian, passed away on June 21, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. She was a retired teacher from St. Patrick Catholic School. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and she loved her church and church family. She helped bake cookies to take to shut ins, baking for months to take the many cookies to people. She had also worked for many years at the Lauderdale County Welfare Department. She loved to paint and discuss her family lineage that consisted of the Stennis family (Honorable John C.).
She is survived by her children, Melissa DeAngelo, Betsy Brown, and George Powell, Jr.; Six Grandchildren, Staci Robson, Laurie Manning, Paige DeAngelo, Casey DeAngelo, Jonah Murphy, and William Brown; and 7 Great Grandchildren, Peyton Sheehan, Cooper Robson, Trey Murphy, Addyson Murphy, Mary Spencer, Harris Manning and Annilee Brown.
