Services for Carol Neal will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:30 am at Center Grove Baptist Church in Lauderdale County, with the Rev. Ervin Mooney Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James F. Webb funeral home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Neal, 83, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at her son's home. She was a faithful member of Center Grove Baptist Church where she served her Lord and church family for many years. She taught piano, organ and voice at Beat Four, Whynot, Vimville and Southeast Lauderdale Schools for a total of 22 years. She loved to highlight her students in recitals and work with youth groups in VBS, Christmas, Easter and other programs. She used her talent to play the piano and sing for the glory of her Lord. Her favorite scripture verses were II Timothy 2:15 and Psalms 19:14. Whenever she sent cards to friends and loved ones she always included an encouraging scripture with her signature.
Survivors include her son, David Neal and wife, Eula, of Meridian; Grandson, Christopher Neal and wife, Ashley; Granddaughter, Chastidy Queen and husband (Donnie); great grandchildren Garrett and Case Neal, Madison, Morgan and Mason Queen; step granddaughter Teresa Robarts; sister in law, Virginia Butler; several nieces and nephews; and several "special" friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, H.C. Neal Jr.; her parents J.A. (Junior) and Callie Butler; brothers, Grady, Elton and Robert Butler and sisters-in-law, Ann Butler Goldman and Sally Butler.
Pallbearers will be Michael Roberson, Ryan Mosley, Bill Williams, Paul Singley, Oma Johnson and Jim Butler.
Honorary pallbearers will be John McPherson, Bill Rainer, Erbie Usrey, Henry Evans, Roy Lee Moffett, Glen Cochran, Chad Roberson and Ronnie Singley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2016 morning from 10:00 to 11:30 at the church prior to the service.
