Carole Jean Keller Smith was born in Meridian Mississippi on January 28, 1944. On June 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, she entered the pearly gates of Heaven.

Growing up, Carole was always very involved in the community. As a young lady, she was crowned little league queen of Meridian. She became an officer of Nu Phi Mu sorority while attending Meridian Junior College, where she graduated in 1964. The following year, Carole married the love of her life, Richard Wayne Smith, on  June 11, 1965. Together, they raised three daughters, and were faithful in making sure they attended church regularly. The family were members of Mount Vernon Baptist Church for a number of years. Carole later moved her letter to Broadmoor Baptist Church, and would attend Oak Grove Methodist and First Baptist Union, before recently moving her letter to Bear Creek Baptist Church in Cypress, Texas. For 31 years, she worked in the water department for the city of Meridian. Having a servants heart, she found joy in helping and serving people. Carole’s hobbies included swimming, shopping, singing, eating, and above all else, spending time with her family. Carole always said don’t worry, just trust in the Lord and it’ll be aight. Her words of encouragement and beautiful soul will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Smith Huddleston and her husband, Buster, and their children, Brianna Huddleston, Amanda Huddleston, and Aaron Huddleston, Bethany Dolan and her husband, Gary, and their children, Hayley Stephens, Mackenzie Dolan, and Hayden Dolan and Hollie Kidd and her husband, Samuel Kidd Jr, and children Ashley Kidd, Hunter Smith, Samuel Kidd III and Graci Kidd, and great grandchildren, Boe Dearman and Bennett Kidd; sister, Teresa Eakes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Carole is proceeded in death by her husband, Richard Wayne Smith; her parents Sam Meyer and  Irma Jean Privett Keller; brother, Sam Meyer Keller Jr.; and maternal grandparents, James Add and Fannie Privett Sr.
