   Carolyn Janell Harris, 80, of Meridian, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Poplar Springs Nursing Center.

    Janell was born to Clarence A. and Nellie A. (Robinson) Lee on June 30, 1944, in Meridian. She served as secretary for the Soulé Company for many years prior to her running the Marion Thrift Shop in Marion. Janell will be remembered as being a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, who all lovingly called her “Nannie”.

    Janell is survived by her daughter, Pattie Martin (Scott); her son, Craig Moffett; brothers, Gene Lee and Terry Lee (Anita); sister, Linda Brew (Lynn); six grandchildren, Stacie Martin, Justin Martin, Caitlin Martin, Tanner Martin, Will Moffett, and Terry Moffett; three great grandchildren, Emmitt, Ford, and Tripp Martin; along with her very dear nieces, Jessica Lee and Allison Owen; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Janell was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nellie Lee; her husband, James Augustus Harris; her brother, Hal Alfred Lee; and her sister-in-laws, Carol Lee and Ouida Lee.

     A memorial service to honor Janell’s life will be held at a later date. Details for the service will be updated when they become available. The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers during this time as they begin to transition their lives without their beloved Janell.
