Aurelia Carolyn Karnes Graveside services for Aurelia Carolyn Karnes will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Josh Yeager officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Karnes, 78, of Meridian died on Monday, June 1, 2009, at her home. She was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class at Highland Baptist Church. She was born in Macon, MS and lived most of her adult life in Meridian, MS, where she was a retired restaurateur. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and sister, and was very generous. Despite her illness, she continued to show compassion and love for everyone spreading joy where she could and she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her son, Billy D. Brooks of Meridian; stepdaughter Susan and husband Tom Tate of Jacksonville, FL ; three grandchildren; one step grandchild; three great grandchildren; two sisters: Texa Reynolds of Birmingham, AL, Pamealia Gentry of Longview, MS, and a Brother, Beal Moore and wife Frances of Macon, MS, also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Karnes, an infant son, and her parents William H. and Willie Dell Moore; two brothers: W.C. Moore and Robert Moore. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to graveside service.
