Funeral services for Mrs. Clio Clark Curtis Mayo will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00 am in Webb Chapel with the Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mayo, age 83, formerly of Meridian, was currently living in DeKalb, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Queen City Nursing Home in Meridian. She was born August 14, 1925 in Meridian, daughter of Sidney Ferguson Curtis of Ellisville and Aby Lurline Faucette Curtis of Conehatta. She married William Mayo on February 14, 1948. She was the secretary of the Grand secretary of the Masonic Lodge F AM in Meridian. Prior to marriage she worked at Mississippi Power Company. She also worked as a secretary to the fire chief at the Naval Air Station. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, the XYZ Club and Eastern Star Chapter 10.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, William Mayo; daughter, Aby Lurline Weaver and husband, Gary of DeKalb; son, William Clark Mayo of DeKalb. Four grandchildren: Scott Christopher Kaderabek and wife, Kathleen of Columbus; Samantha Virginia Kaderabek of Mt. Prospect, IL; Sherry Allwell and husband, Daniel of Souinlovie, MS; Salena Foy and husband, James of Belle Chasse, LA; Donald L. Weaver and wife, Jenny Lyn of Pearl , Ms; Shauna K. Fisher and husband, Brad of Pensacola, FL and eight great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sid F. Curtis, Sr. and Aby Lurline Faucette Curtis.
Pallbearers will be Sid F. Curtis, Jr., William C. Mayo, Gary L. Weaver, Scott C. Kaderabek, S. Lee Curtis and Donald L. Weaver.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to service.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Central United Methodist Church.
