Mr. Clyde Rex Coker, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Clyde Rex Coker, Sr. will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cokers Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Owens, Rev. Marvin Cooper, and Rev. Hiram Coker officiating. Interment will be held in the church Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Coker, age 90, of Meridian, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Coker was a veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corp as a Naval Airplane Mechanic. He taught in the Meridian Public school system for 40 years, helping students learn the art of mechanics through various classes. Mr. Coker was also a Boy Scout Leader for at least 30 years and the founder of Troop 27. During his time as a Scout Leader he attained vigil honor in the Order of the Arrow and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Whynot Big Horn Hunting Club.

He is survived by his wife, Vera Coker One son, Clyde Rex Coker Jr. Kellie Brother, Jack Coker Dean Step Daughters, Sandra Thomas and Nancy Town Grandchildren, Clyde Rex Trey Coker III, Bruce Thomas, Tyler Thomas, and Jordan Town Great Granddaughters, Kristen Thomas, Abby Gift, and Atley Thomas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Clyde and Francis Coker Wife, Ruth Murray Coker and his Sister, Lyda Vic Scarbrough.

Pallbearers will be Butch Linton, Dewayne Massey, Bill Rogers, Ryan Taylor, Dewayne Taylor, Tyler Thomas, Dewayne Rush, and Randy Stewart.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Hewett Stodard, Raymond Brewster, Butch Terry, Jerry Taylor, Stanley Gressett, Glenn Dees, Earl Creakmore, and Raymond Crawford.

Visitation will be held at Webb Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 5 8 p.m. and his body will lie in state on Thursday from 10 11:00 a.m. at Cokers Chapel.
