C.W. Shine Gray
Services for Mr. C.W. Shine Gray will be held Wednesday at 11 am at Webb Chapel with Pastor Donald Gentry and Bro. Jack Bonner officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gray, of Meridian, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Gray was an active member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church where he attended for many years. He also served in the Navy during World War II where he earned the Purple Heart. He founded Grays Hosiery Mill in 1952 where he worked and operated until 2006. Mr. Gray was a big bowler and had a great influence on bowling around the state. He was inducted into the Mississippi State Hall of Fame in 2003 and was well respected around the sport. His entire life was lived for providing for his family and people in need. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Charlie Gray and his wife Linda of Meridian sister, Ruth Edwards of Houston, Texas three grandchildren, Chuck Gray of Meridian, Amy Davis of Daphne, Alabama, and Cathy Harrell of Meridian four great grandchildren, Dustin Gray of Meridian, Lauren Harrell of Meridian, Savannah Davis of Daphne, Alabama, and Mary Nell Harrell of Meridian.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Bud Gray his wife, Nell Gray a brother, Lester Gray and sisters, Mildred, Cecil, Neola, and Bell.
