Danny Glynn Hamrick, 69, of Meridian, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Danny was born to Tommy Lee Hamrick and Bobbie Jean (Price) Hamrick on August 2, 1955, in Meridian, MS. In 1976, Danny enlisted with The United States Marine Corps. While serving, he received the Rifle Marksman Badge, as well as the Good Conduct commendation. He will be remembered as a hard worker, who loved his family and his country, and was generous to a fault. After serving in the USMC, he lived and worked in Texas as a truck driver. After retirement, Danny moved back to Meridian to be closer to family and friends.
He is survived by his father, Tommy Lee Hamrick; daughter, Chanel Dawn Spicer and her husband Darren; his brother, Gary Hamrick and wife Sabrina; his three grandchildren, Maddie, Isla, and Rhett; his nieces, Lauryn Bailey and husband Brandon and their children, Brooks and Briar, and Courtney Hughes and husband Daniel; and his nephew, Thomas Hamrick (Allyn).
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean (Price) Hamrick, and his brother, Rick Hamrick.
Services for Danny will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, beginning at 1:00pm at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 11:30-12 at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North, prior to proceeding to the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, to the Wounded Warrior Project, or to the organization or charity of your choice.
