David Cooper

Funeral services for Mr. David Cooper will be held Saturday at 1pm in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home. Rev. Patty Roberson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church cemetery in Rose Hill.
Mr. Cooper, 73, of Rose Hill, passed away Wednesday at his residence.
He was retired as a Preventive Maintenance Inspector for Burlington Industries with thirty plus years of employment. He also retired from Queen City Nursing Center as their Maintenance Director.
Mr. Cooper was a devout Christian who studied his Bible regularly. He also had a text network of friends that he sent words of encouragement and wisdom each day. He was not afraid to tell you he loved you and to tell you about his Lord. He enjoyed bream fishing and was an avid Alabama fan.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Cooper; son Danny Cooper (Lorrie); daughter Stacy Phillips (Jeffery; stepfather Preston Lewis; stepbrothers Timmy Lewis and Tony Lewis; grandchildren Tyler Cooper (Adriann) and Haley Phillips; great-grandchild Amelia Ann Cooper; sister in law Tammy Reynolds; nieces Robin Davidson (Dalton); great-nephew Mason Davidson; niece Shelby Sistrunk (Jacob) and brother in law Billy Early.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mazie Lewis; father D.R. Cooper; sister Maxine Early and brother William "Slick" Cooper.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
