In 1940, dressed in his white naval uniform he was introduced to his future wife Louise Moses by his sister "Queenie" in her Vicksburg Mississippi restaurant. Dewey and Louise had a long and happy marriage. They had four children, Mary Ann, Dewey Jr., Sharon and David. Together Dewey and Louise ran Sadka Realty Company. They were a great team, he often said, " I couldn't have done it without her." When she died in 2003 after 58 years of marriage, Dewey said, " It was hard. I went through a tough time." Both he and the business suffered.
Dewey's family nickname was "Sunshine." It was a perfect fit. His giving, unlimited concerns and support made each day brighter.
