TSGT. Donald S. “Mac” McWilliams, Sr. (United States Air Force, Retired), a resident of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away early Sunday morning on January 7, 2024, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. He was 90 years old.
Donald was born April 18, 1933, in De Kalb, Mississippi to the late Walter Ross McWilliams and Emma Jane Long McWilliams. Donald married Geraldine Vick in August of 1953. They had four boys and traveled the world together while Donald served in the Army and Air Force. During his military career, he was stationed in Japan, Hawaii, Thailand, England, and various places in the States. In his high school days, Donald played in an award-winning Hillbilly Band with his twin brother, Arnold. He was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed playing both with his sons and grandsons.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife and friend of 50 years, Geraldine Vick McWilliams; twin brother, Arnold McWilliams; sisters, Janie McWilliams, Mae McWilliams, Nona Quarles, Lelia Brown, Eugenia Bounds, Beatrice McWilliams, Eleanor Ethridge, Helen Crain, and Edith Lundy; son, Donald Sylvester McWilliams, Jr.; and grandsons, Ross McWilliams and Donny McWilliams.
He is survived by his sons, Jerry (Ashley) McWilliams, Jeff (Kim) McWilliams, and Harry (Leanna) McWilliams; daughter-in-law, Janet McWilliams; grandchildren, Hailey Moriarty, Kelly Lister, Kevin McWilliams, Stefan McWilliams, Christy McWilliams, Clay Vinson, Tiffany Pugh, Christopher McWilliams, Dustin McWilliams, Miller McWilliams, and Tucker McWilliams, along with a legacy of 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Donald will be Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 11-12 p.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North located at 7774 Highway 39 North, Meridian, Mississippi 39305. The funeral service will follow in the chapel beginning at 12 p.m., with Bro. Kenneth Owen officiating. Burial will take place in the Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery located on Center Ridge Church Road, De Kalb, Mississippi 39328.
