Donnie Wright

Services for Mr. Donnie Wright will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-DeKalb with Pastor Russel Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery-East.

Mr. Wright, 71, of DeKalb, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Ochsner Rush Hospital in Meridian.

Donnie attended Salem Baptist Church and loved his church family. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also spent his time farming, taking care of his cattle and horses, logging, as well as traveling. He was a talented carpenter that could build just about anything. However, his greatest love was for his family which he cherished dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Sciple Wright; children, Amy Clark (Ronald), Amie Chain (Robert), Wayne Eaves (Tammy), and Chad Wright (Andrea); grandchildren, Casey Wright (Phillip), Summer Stokes (Eric), Kodi Kilpatrick (Colt), Kayla Smith (Randy), Adrianna Chain, Ethan Wright, Breanna Eaves (Peyton), Nyla Smith (Jordan), Aly Chain, Cooper Wright, and Romy Wright; great grandchildren, Emory and Preston Stokes, Fenton and Jhett Kilpatrick, Lakelynn Fulcher, and Ryder Smith; siblings, Jerry Nell Wright DuBard, Marsha Geoghagan (Tom), Mark Wright, and Danny Wright (Tina); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Phillip and Willie Fortenberry Jones and Katie Wright Bateman; parents, Delmon and Nancy Jones Wright; brothers, Barry and Ted Wright; sister, Delva Jean Wright Eastman; grandson, Zachary Chain; and great grandchildren Leigh Thomas Kilpatrick and Addilyn Henderson.

Pallbearers will include Ethan Wright, Cooper Wright, Colt Kilpatrick, Phillip Wright, Scott Wright, Eric Stokes, Peyton Scott, and Shane Sanderford.

Honorary pallbearers will include Wayne “Booger” Wiggins, Gene Johnson, and Joe Lee Durant.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and an hour prior to service, all at the funeral home.
