Funeral services for Dorothy T. McAllister will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home with visitation one-hour prior, with Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery immediately following the service.
Dorothy T. McAllister was born on December 5, 1919 and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, November 21, 2018. She was 98 years old and was a member of First Baptist Church of Meridian, MS. Mrs. McAllister was a faithful servant of the Lord and brought many others to know and love Christ as well. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years at State Blvd Baptist Church, which she was an original founder of the Church that started in the basement of her home. She worked for Stallworth Lumber Company for many years as an accountant / bookkeeper.
Mrs. McAllister is survived by her brother, Lee V. Thompson Jr.; son, Jim McAllister; daughter in law, Carolyn McAllister Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Crystal Powell (Brent), Athens, GA, Thompson McAllister, Meridian, MS, Carla Barr, Calera, AL, Roy McAllister IV (Stephanie), Dacula, GA.; great grandchildren, Brandon Barr, Alyssa McAllister, Quinn McAllister, and Olivia Powell; several nieces; and special friends Tina Stanley and Edna Manley.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Lee V. Thompson Sr. and Lucille B. Thompson; husband, Roy J. McAllister; son, Roy J. McAllister III; sisters, Eloise Thompson and Allie Ruth Dudley.
Pallbearers are Bruce Martin, T.C. Glover Jr., Mike Cover; grandsons, Roy McAllister IV, Thompson McAllister, and Brent Powell.
