Dorothy Marie Parke
Services for Mrs. Dorothy Marie Parke will be held Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Graveside, with the Rev. Jimmy Harrison and Mr. Jim Wall officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Parke, 85, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Infinity Hospice. Mrs. Parke was a retired switchboard operator of Marks Rothenberg and Peoples Bank. She was also a resident of Meridian since the age of 6. Mrs. Parke was a graduate of Meridian High School- Class of 1941 and also attended Huntington College in Montgomery, Alabama. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Meridian Junior Auxiliary where she served as treasurer.
Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Parke Skipper and her husband Ed of Meridian, MS; Ann Parke Gibbs and her husband Walt of Roanoke Rapids, NC. One Son, Randy Parke and his wife Ann of Meridian, MS. Grandchildren, Julie Skipper, Emily Gibbs, Molly Gibbs, Jeff Parke, and Kate Lucy; a sister, Maxine Lang and her husband Skeeter of Meridian, MS. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank Parke; her parents, W.H. and Zula Jones; her brothers, Clyde Jones and O.C. Jones; her sisters, Jewel Hearn and Virginia Garrett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2007 at James F. Webb Funeral Home from 5- 7 p.m.
