After graduating from Meridian High School, she went to work for Western Union where she met her future husband, Gene Price. Dorothy became a homemaker after getting married in 1945. A devoted mother and grandmother, Dorothy maintained close relationships with her children and grandchildren and delighted in their accomplishments. She loved spending time outside in nature, taking care of her yard, and feeding birds and local wildlife. Dorothy enjoyed exercising and avidly participated in classes at the senior citizens center. She was very active and often walked 10 miles a day.
As an avid reader of books and magazines, Dorothy often clipped articles of interest for other family members. She loved sewing and created many beautiful quilts and cross stitch pieces. She was known for her excellent cooking, especially pies and red velvet cakes. Dorothy enjoyed drinking Coca-Cola and meeting with her friends each week over hamburgers. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
