Dorothy Rae Rasberry

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Rae Rasberry, 80, of Meridian, Mississippi will be held on the morning of May 8, 2024 at 11 o’clock.  The service will be held graveside at Hebron Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi.

Mrs. Dorothy raised her girls (and helped with a few others) in Collins, Mississippi and was an active member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church. Upon retirement, she moved back to Meridian and became a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ray and Francis Steele. She is survived by her husband, Robert “Buddy” Rasberry. They would have celebrated 62 years of marriage in June of this year.

She is also survived by three daughters: Vicki Jensen of Meridian, MS, Lisa Essary of Beaufort, SC, Pam Kelly (Chris) of Huntsville, AL. Six grandchildren: Andrea Routon (Derrick), Parker Essary (Jennifer), Blake Essary, Audrey Kelly Hurt (Collin), Cade Kelly (Sara), Eli Kelly. Five great grandchildren: Lydia and Madeline Routon, Lucus and Gianna Essary, and Olivia Rae Hurt.

Out of love and compassion for children, she requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
