Dr. Billy M. Wansley Sr.

Funeral services for Dr. Billy M. Wansley Sr. will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Edwards officiating. Interment will be held in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wansley, age 79, passed away on December 11, 2013 at Ocean Springs Nursing Center in Ocean Springs, MS. Billy graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical School, then from University of Miami and Tulane University in Internal Medicine. He was a member of the American Medical Association. He served in the United States Army and then in the United States Air Force, with the rank of Captain, as a Flight Surgeon during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi and was a Master Mason and a Shriner. He was a long standing member of the Biloxi Rotary and was very active in the community. He enjoyed participating in community functions, he was a member of The Revelers Mardi Gras and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and held season tickets since 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Wansley of Biloxi, MS Children, Billy Wansley Jr. Virginia, John Wansley, and Tina Warren Vince, all of Atlanta, GA Grandchildren, Rachel and Ana Warren Brother in law, Mike Bateman Faye Niece, Stacey Vittick Nephew, Hunter Bateman Katie and a Great Nephew, Michael Vitter.

He was preceded in death by parents, Russell and Pauline Wansley and by two sisters.

Visitation will be Monday, December 16, 2013 at Webb Funeral Home from 11:30 1:00 p.m.
