Edward Earl "Buster" Watson, Sr.
Funeral services for Buster Watson will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, with Bro. Ronald Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Meridian Memorial Park.
Mr. Watson, age 71, of Meridian, passed away September 26 at Rush Hospital.
Buster was a lifelong resident of Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School in 1964. Throughout his high school years he excelled at all sports, winning numerous trophies that are still on display at the high school and received a football scholarship to EMCC. Buster was a hard worker and retired from James River Corporation after thirty-six years. He was a kind, quiet man who his high school friends lovingly referred to as the "Gentle Giant". He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Watson is survived by his children, Carolyn (Ronald) Boles, Eddie (Kim) Watson, Mickey (Dana) Watson and Dennis Watson; grandchildren, Josh (Shelby) Boles, Sarah (TJ) Pierce, Trey and Alison Watson, Hailey Bonner, and Michael and Blake Watson; friends and mothers of his children, Brenda Winick and Carol Watson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Watson, and brother, James Thomas "Jim" Watson, Jr.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, grandson-n-law, and Baron Blackwell.
