Edwina, age 92, of Meridian, was born to Jim and Agnes Pope Snowden on December 1, 1925 and passed away January 18, 2018.
In 1944 she married Albert N. Chisolm. Children born to them were Sandra, Dianne and Jimmy. After graduating from Center Hill School, she remained in the Shucktown community where she helped care for those in need. She was quiet and reserved with a quick wit. She was known as "Mama" to her children, "Memaw" to her grandchildren, and "Wannie" to nieces and nephews. She was loved by all. She expressed her love by cooking many after-church lunches and providing a warm inviting place to enjoy the afternoon.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her children, Sandra (Jim) Swartz and Dianne (Mike) Culpepper; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tara and Tony Samuel (Mekyhna and Adam), Mardi and Dr. Adrian Page (Dr. Elizabeth Page Lake and AJ Page), James T. and Angela Swartz (Gabriel, Aaron, Hannah, Ethan, Isaiah, and Havah), Angela Swartz Foust (Alexandra and Abigail), Teri and Philip Frazier (Baly and Sydney), Jena Wiggins (Dixie, Kylie, Josie and Ty), and Ben Chisolm (Ariel).
Special to her were her niece, Carol Graham (Liza and Sally), nephew, Kendall (Ann) Kinard (Teresa and Jeri), and double-first cousin Evelyn Samuelson (Darlene).
Preceding her in death include husband of 62 years, Albert Chisolm, her son, Jimmy Chisolm, parents, Jim and Agnes Snowden; and sister, Manez Hood.
