Canton-Edwina Joyce Shaw Wheeler,90, formerly of Toomsuba, MS,passed away at her daughters home in Canton, MS, Saturday, September 14,2019.
Born and raised in Cuba, AL, she lived there until moving with her young family to Toomsuba where she lived until moving to Canton in recent years. She was the younger daughter of Clyde Edwin Shaw and Lyda Adelle Dees Shaw, who both predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her elder sister, Eleanor Christine Shaw Culpepper and their younger brother, Harold Lyman Shaw. Also predeceasing her were Orien Wheeler, her husband, and Lucas Clay Wheeler,a son.
She is survived by a son, Derryl Wheeler,of Canton, and a daughter, Janis Wheeler Breeland of Canton. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Jeremy Wheeler(Martina), Andrew Wheeler (Jamie), Amanda Jones, Maegan Carr (Jason), Joseph Wheeler (Kristy), Ashley Breeland, Lee Breeland (Eden), Laurel Callahan (Ethan), and Amber Wheeler,and 16 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Other family she leaves behind include: Aunt Minnie Ellis of Tuscaloosa, a sister-in-law, Lucille White of Texas, and a brother-in-law, Armand "Brett" Wheeler of Massachusetts.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 16, at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation at Webb Funeral Home will be Tuesday, September 17, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, at Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba, Al.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Carr and Ethan Callahan.
