Eloise Martin Hagwood
Services for Eloise Martin Hagwood will be held Tuesday, May 25, at 10:00 a. m. at Causeyville Baptist Church with her grandson Rev. Ryan Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hagwood, 85, of Causeyville, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, in Meridian. She was born on November 21, 1924, in Clarke County, Mississippi, the last of ten children born to Joseph Lewis Martin and Lucy Maude Fountain Martin. She was a member of Causeyville Baptist Church.
She was the consummate homemaker and a loving and supportive wife and mother. She was most proud of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren whom she loved dearly. The way she lived her life ensured that her familys rich heritage in Causeyville would continue through the generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers: William Carlos Martin, Joseph Lynn Martin, Arthur Marcus Martin, Earl Anderson Martin, Maurice Edward Martin, and Norman Fountain Martin and three sisters: Lessie Maude Martin Culpepper, Elma Lois Martin Irby, and Ethel Janelle Martin Shirley.
Survivors include her husband of sixty wonderful years Willie Howard Hagwood two daughters, Virginia Lynn Etheridge and her husband Larry, and Judy Lee Culpepper and her husband Jimmy and a son Howard Earl Hagwood and his wife Linda. Additional survivors include her seven grandchildren: Lt. Col. Rob Culpepper USAF and his wife Angela, Rev. Ryan Culpepper and his wife Katie, James Larry Jay Etheridge and his fianc Elyse, Joseph Willie Etheridge and his wife Brandi, LeAnn Culpepper Oliver and her husband Michael, Kara Lynn Etheridge Skinner and her husband Jonathan, and Jonathan Walker Hagwood and eight greatgranddaughters: Caitlyn, Megan, Macy, Sarah Kate, Jodi Lynn, Lauren Lynn, Rylee, Savannah and an expected greatgranddaughter Mallory.
The family requests that memorials be made to Causeyville Baptist Church, 6192 CauseyvilleClarke Rd., Meridian, MS, 39301.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and three great nephews: Marcus Irby, Erik Shirley, and Phillip Spence.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p. m. until 7:00 p. m. at the funeral home and thirty minutes prior to services at the church.
