Emily Faye Wyman, 91, of Louisville, MS, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at her home.
Faye was born to James Mitchell and Eva Erline (McAbee) Welch on February 27, 1933, in Alabama. She will be remembered by her siblings as being a sweet loving sister, who loved to garden and bake. She was a hairdresser by trade, and ran her own salon in Crystal River, FL prior to her family moving to Louisville. Faye was also known for her love of crocheting and quilting; often lovingly gifting her homemade bedspreads, quilts, and tablecloths to her family and friends. She was a one-of-a-kind woman, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those missing her will also include her loving canine companions, Lonesome and Bob, who will surely miss their daily homemade biscuits and cornbread.
Faye is survived by her siblings, Ruth Newberry of Pensacola, FL, Edna Bennett of Jacksonville, FL, James Welch and Jerry Welch both of Gulfport, MS, Ann Bonner of Toxey, AL, and Curtis Welch of Butler, AL; her grandchildren, Frank Wyman and Amy Roberts both of Cullman, AL, and John Wyman of Bainbridge, GA; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Ms. Edna Salter.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, James Mitchell and Eva Erline Welch; her husband, Willie Frank Wyman; her sons, Clarence Wyman and Dewayne Wyman; sister, Betty Cantrell; brother, Duford Welch; and her grandsons, David Wyman and Doyle Wyman.
Graveside Services for Faye will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Butler Cemetery in Shuqualak, MS, beginning at 2:30 pm.
The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-DeKalb is grateful for the opportunity to honor Faye’s life and memory and to serve her loving family during this time.
