Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Jean "Jeannie" Todd will be held Friday at 1:30 pm in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home - Meridian. Burial will follow in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Gandy and Pastor Samuel Riemersma will be officiating.
Mrs. Todd, 77, of Chunky, passed away Tuesday at Diversacare Nursing Center in Meridian. She was retired as a receptionist and Switchboard Operator in the banking field. Mrs. Todd was a very talented and social person, who never met a stranger and a very loving person. Family and friends will always remember her love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her Lord and was very active in her local church, Seventh Day Adventist. She enjoyed playing the piano and had the voice of an angel, joining voices with her husband in duets. She also served as pianist in several churches in the area including Hickory Methodist Church.
Mrs. Todd is survived by her husband Gerald Todd; daughter Glenna Norwood; son Michael Andrew "Bubba" Norwood; grandchild Porsche Shelden; great grandchildren Andrew Kyle Simmons, Mason Evans and Liam Evans. She is also survived by her step daughter Deborah Lynne Todd; step grandchildren Jesse Brown, Justin Brown, Austin Brown; several step great grandchildren along with her sister, Betty Jean Beeson and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon Eugene and Emma Jewel Stewart and siblings Merell Stewart, Elvin Stewart and Elbert Stewart.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5pm to 8 pm and one hour prior to the service.
