Emma Dean White
Emma Dean White, age 93, went to be with her Savior on June 28, 2010. She was a neighbor in the truest sense. Visitation will be held at Webb Funeral Home on Thursday from 911AM with the funeral service following at 11AM at the funeral home and burial at Magnolia Cemetery.
Emma was born in Electric Mills, MS where she graduated high school and then went on to attend junior college at a time when many women were not seeking higher education. She later partnered with another woman and opened a hair dressing business in Meridian, MS. She married William Thomas W.T. or Willie White in 1961, after the death of his first wife. They lived together for many years in Bailey, MS where they enjoyed caring for cattle, growing vegetables, and fishing.
Emma was a long time member of Arkadelphia Baptist Church of Bailey, MS and most recently a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. She always found comfort in knowing that the Good Lord as she so often referred to Him was sovereign.
She is survived by her step son, Tommy White Sylvia of Knoxville, TN. Her two step grandchildren: Allison White Little Jason of Collierville, TN and Virginia White Carter Brett of Nashville, TN. And six step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dean and her sister.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Oak Hill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3938, Meridian, MS 39303.
