E.P. Sonny Brown, III
E.P. Brown, age 86, a resident of Meridian, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Bedford Care Center in Marion after a courageous battle with Alzheimers. He was born on January 17, 1925 to E.P. Jr. and Johnnie Tinnin Brown of Lockhart, MS.
Services will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Flynn officiating. Burial will be at Lockhart Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
E. P. will always be remembered for his kindness, his work ethic, and the love he had for his family. He was truly the best husband, father, fatherinlaw, grandpa, uncle and friend anyone could ever be blessed to have. He was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. He graduated from Meridian High School and attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Brown also worked for Borden Milk until his retirement.
Mr. Brown is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Tena Beason Brown two sons: Ronny Brown of Meridian and Glenn Brown Dawn of Alpharetta, GA daughter, Laurie Gibson Butch of Meridian daughterinlaw, Jackie Brown of Meridian Grandchildren, Ryan Feltman of Germantown, TN Emily, Allison and Cole Brown of Alpharetta, GA Robert Brown, Clark Gibson, Rachelle Stephens and Aaron Ginn of Meridian, MS and Leigh Ann Bonvillain of Madison, MS two great grandchildren: Peyton Roberson of Madison, MS and Taylor Stephens of Meridian a special sisterinlaw, Louise McKinnon many close nieces and nephews, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Mike Brown.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Feltman, Robert Brown, Cole Brown, Clark Gibson, Candy Gibson and Jim Swartzfager. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. C.C. Burns, Earl Duke, Henry Allen, Bill Hollingsworth, Milton Jeffares, Maureen Files, and Randy Routt.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service at James F. Webb Funeral Home.
