Services for Erma Gene Rowell Henley will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11 am in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home with Dr. Raymon Leake and Bro. David McCubbin officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Henley, 87, of Meridian went to her heavenly home Sunday, June 18, 2017 at her residence. She was retired from the Mississippi Air National Guard and will be remembered as Granny by all the men and women with whom she worked.
She was a 25 year member of Longstreet Chapter # 285 Order of Eastern Star and also a member of Meridian First Ladies Civitan. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Meridian.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. During her illness, she has been an inspiration to friends and family reminding us taht God is in control and he knows best.
Her survivors include daughters, Ramona Rowell Spinks (Howard), Tommie Jean Rowell Huffman (David), granddaughter, Melissa Spinks Herring, grandsons, Christopher Huffman, Matthew Huffman, George Howard Spinks (Keyla), great grandchildren, Harlie Herring, Jacob Huffman, Emma Claire Spinks and Ella Grace Spinks, great great granddaughter Olivia Crapps, brother, Horace Mermon Miller (Leslie), numerous nieces, nephews, friends, family and a very special family friend Dottie Schacte.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carlton and Helen Miller; husbands Thomas Ray Rowell and John A Henley; brothers Wallace Miller and Charles Miller.
Pallbearers include Barry Germany, Christopher Huffman, Matthew Huffman, George Spinks, Jerry Winstead and Anthony Watkins. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Miller, David Huffman, Jack Rowell, Jimmy Rowell, and Howard Spinks.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 10-11 am at James F. Webb Funeral Home.
The Family of Erma Gene Henley wishes to extend a special thanks to Harper's Hospice Care and nurses Shelia Irby and Peggy O'Connell for their exceptional care of their love one.
