Ernest "Bud" Wilkes Baughman

     Ernest “Bud” Wilkes Baughman, 82, of De Kalb, Mississippi, passed away peacefully the evening of Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Mississippi Care Center of De Kalb.

     Bud was born to Elmer and Gladys (Clark) Baughman on May 26, 1941, in De Kalb, Mississippi.  He was the baby of eight children, four boys and four girls.  Bud became a farmer early on in life and continued to do so right up until he became ill.  He always helped anyone in need and his sister recalls how he gave and never asked for anything in return.

     Bud was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clark, Cooper and James Baughman; and his sisters, Louise Darnell, Mazell Thrash, and Jonnie McMullan.

     He is survived by his sister, Jan Edwards and her husband, Merl, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

     There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-De Kalb, located on Highway 16W, De Kalb, Mississippi 39328.  All who knew Bud are invited to come and pay their respects to the family during this time.

     The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to all the staff at the De Kalb Mississippi Care Center for taking such loving care of Bud during his stay.
