Mrs. Ethel Avara Anderson

Graveside Services for Mrs. Ethel Avara Anderson will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 11:00 pm at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Anderson, age 90, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 in Riley Hospital. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was very active through life in many civic, social and private organizations. She was retired owner and operator of Medical Merchants Collections.

She is survived by Brenda Jackson of Hattiesburg, MS; cousin, Shirley Massey of Meridian; several nieces; grandson, Theron Brooks Sweeney and wife, Karen of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughter, Tracey Sweeney Waldron and husband, Eric of Hattiesburg, MS; eight great-grandchildren; special friend, Ed Allbrook of Meridian.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Theron Young Anderson; parents Thomas Franklin Avara and Annie Ethel Jones Avara; brothers: Aubrey Avara, Elliott Avara; sister, Selva Avara Breazeale.
