Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Hoven will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM, with Bro. Hal Ethridge officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 AM until service time. Interment will be in Hamrick Cemetery.
Frances Etheridge-Hoven, 83, a beloved mother, Mamaw, sister, friend and mentor to many, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 in Meridian MS. Frances was born on June 25,1941 in Meridian to Myrtle and Homer Etheridge.
Frances had a remarkable career in the finance industry, a field she dedicated herself to for many years with passion and integrity. After graduating from business school at a young age, she immediately entered the workforce, building a reputation for excellence, wisdom, and genuine care for those she served. She worked diligently until the age of 80, mentoring many in the industry and leaving a lasting legacy of knowledge and kindness.
More than just a career, finance was her ministry—her office often felt more like a gathering place, where customers quickly became family. She had a gift for connecting with people, and many who walked through her doors found themselves staying for heartfelt conversations about faith, family, and life’s blessings. Her unwavering dedication, both professionally and personally, touched countless lives, and her impact will be remembered for generations to come.
Frances, played basketball during her school years and even played with her grandson, in her older years till she hurt her ankle she taught her oldest granddaughter how to crawl forward not backward and always let us Grand children eat in her bed with a big beach towel. She loved movie night with her child children. Frances was always one to help family and friends in need, she met at lot of new friends/family in her last years of her life that help take care of her and she lovey them dearly. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Great woman to everyone she met alone the years in her career as well.
She is survived by her daughter: Jennifer Parten and son Michael Woodward; her Grandchildren, Casey Files (Chandler), Alex Parten (Hope), and Crystal Hogg; Nine (9) Great Grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Ethridge.
She is preceded in death by her parents; by a daughter, Lisa Garrison; by her brothers, Cecil Etheridge, Maxwell Etheridge, and Tommy K Etheridge; and by her sisters, Pasty Thomas, Elise Robertson, and Brenda Etheridge.
