Graveside services for Mr. Franklin Louis Pharis Jr. will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Magnolia Cemetery with Dr. Carl White officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pharis, age 87, of Meridian, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at his home in Meridian. He was a lifetime resident of Meridian, a graduate of Meridian High School who served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a Merit Life Deacon of Highland Baptist Church. For many years he was employed in the engineering department of Southern Pipe and Supply Company until he became selfemployed as a manufacturers representative for industrial equipment.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Manning Chalk Pharis Daughter, Lindy Pharis Sister, Louise Pharis Green Grandson, Pharis Godfrey and his wife Jennifer Granddaughter, Dr. Karah Godfrey Coker and her husband John beloved soninlaw, Bill Godfrey and his wife Kay Great Grandchildren, Bryce and Tatum Godfrey, Allie, Peyton and Landon Coker and his Nephews, David Greer, Weber and Wade Pharis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, F.L. Pharis and Mary Morgan Pharis Daughters, Cindy Pharis and Mendy Pharis Godfrey and his Brother, Weber W. Pharis.
Pallbearers will be David Greer, Weber Pharis Jr., Wade Pharis, Edward DeWeese, John DeWeese, and Sidney Graves.
Visitation will be held at Webb Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 10:30 11:30 a.m.
