Gary Turbville

Services for Mr. Gary Turbville will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home North Chapel, 12:30 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Hunt officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 5 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home North. 

Mr. Gary was born in Meridian to Riley and Pauline Turbville. He attended West Lauderdale School. He was an avid animal lover. He enjoyed dealing with horses and livestock, in his earlier years was known to ride bulls. He had a lifelong passion for raising game chickens. He enjoyed billiards and was one of the few left handed pool players in this area. During his working years he worked for TOMs toasted peanuts, Pilliod and Hardins Bakery, where he made many friends over the years, until a serious back injury wouldn't allow him to work. He then came up with the idea of the "CANS FOR KIDS", collecting aluminum cans from all over the area to sell and donate the funds to assist underprivileged kids. 

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha Turbville; his son, Todd Turbville (Savannah); Mother, Pauline Turbville; Sister, Dorothy Shirley (Mike); Brothers, Willie Turbville (Theresa), Terry Turbville (Amanda); Granddaughters, Ryleigh Turbville and Emily Turbville; a Grandson, Nathaniel Turbville; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded by his father, Riley Turbville. 

Pallbearers will be Leon Jolly, Willie Turbville, Terry Turbville, Chris Fortenberry, David Shirley, and Mike Shirley.
