Services for George E. Eddie Connell will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at James F. Webb Chapel with the Rev. Brad Jones officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Connell, 75, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Jeff Anderson RegionalMedical Center. He was retired from the U.S. Army as a computer analyst, and retired from Meridian Community College as a computer instructor. He was an honorary member and regular contributor to the St. Joseph's Lakota Indian School in Chamberlin, S.D. and contributed to St. Jude's Children Hospital. He was a loving husband and father. Survivors include his wife, Vera Connell of Meridian; two daughters, MarionC. Linton and her husband Aubry, and Belinda G. White, all of Meridian; three sons, James Connell and his wife Robin, of Jackson, Thomas Connell, of Meridian, and Andy Connell and his wife Shannon, of Cape Coval, Fla.; two stepsons, Rafe Jones, of Dekalb, and Bradley Jones, of Greenville, Ala.; four stepdaughters, Brenda Cumberland and Teresa Williams, both of Meridian, LaDonna Byrd, of Greenville, Ala., and Lauri Alicea, of Brown Deer, Wis.; 17 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. J. and Edwina Connell; andhis wife, Margareta Connell. Pallbearers will be Cory Connell, Stephen Connell, Kyle Williams, Devin Jones, Adam Polk, and Ryan Polk. The family requests donations be made to the East Mississippi Animal RescueCenter. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 5 p.m. 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
