George Clay May, 87, passed away Friday, March 11, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS.
George retired from the US Air Force to Meridian, Mississippi and then began a second career with the US Postal Service. He was a long time member and former deacon of Faith Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his wife, Velma L. May, his son, Steven W. May, and his siblings, George is survived by his brother, Bill May, daughters, Katherine Uhl of Savannah, Georgia, Cynthia Burt of Meridian, Mississippi, grandchildren Brian May, Heather Burt Lewis, Corey Burt, Brooke Burt, Kelsey Uhl, and Jacob Uhl, and great- grandchildren Layton Lewis, Owen Lewis, Paisley Smyth and Jozlynn Burt.
Visitation will be held at Webb & Stephens Downtown in Meridian on Wednesday, March 16, from 10:00am - 12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. Interment will be in Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS.
