Gerald Roe Herrington , fought a good fight, kept the faith , and finished his course on Tuesday, August 21, 2018.
Gerald was born on October 3, 1935 in Bastrop. LA to Louis Walter and Gladys Cameron Herrington. He served in the United States Air Force receiving the Outstanding Airman Award. Gerald met a dark haired browned eyed girl, Betty Rose Ford and his life was never the same. Together they raised three children, Louis, Kimberly, and Christi. They moved their young family to Meridian in 1971 and never left. He worked with Texaco 19 years before retiring. He was a member of The Revival Center. Gerald loved the Lord and was a great student of the Bible. He was a great listener and a man of few words but when he did speak it was time to listen. This gentle giant and friend to many will be missed greatly.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Louis Freeman Herrington ; a sister, Leah Swann.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Herrington; his children, Louis Herrington (Carla), Kimberly Baysinger and Christi Herrington ; 3 grandchildren, Kristen, Lauren (Anthony), and Cameron ; 2 great-grandchild, Isabella and Rowen; siblings, Joan ( Whitney) Herbert and Glenn Herrington
Funeral Service will be held Friday August 24, 2018 at James W. Webb Funeral Home in Meridian at 11am with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment with military honors will be at 1:30 at Newton Veterans Cemetery.
