Gloria Dianne Richardson

A memorial service for Dr. Gloria Dianne Richardson will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North with Bro. Glenn Barnhill officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Dr. Richardson, 81, of Meridian, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 10, 2025.

Dianne had a lifelong dedication to education. She received her Doctorate in Education Leadership and was an alumni of the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State University. She served as a professor at the University of West Alabama, education curriculum coordinator for Meridian Public Schools, as well as teaching English at Kate Griffin Jr. High School and English and French Northeast Lauderdale High School, and many more institutions throughout her career. She had a strong love for her family, especially her daughter. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Richardson; stepdaughter, Destiny Reed; former husband, Raymond Swain; cousins, Darlene Thompson and Lee Harvey (Cindy); aunt, Rachel Clark; and numerous extended family members and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Richardson; parents, Elmore and Elsie May Harvey; and paternal grandmother, Bessie Lee Harvey.
