Services for Harley E. Linton will be held Thursday, January 25th, 11:00 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Ballard and Rev. Steve Avera officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Garden.
Mr. Linton, 88, of Meridian, passed away Monday in at Poplar Springs Nursing Center.
Harley was a proud Army veteran who was drafted during the Korean War. He was known as a hard worker who spent 38 years with EMEPA as a staking technician, retiring in April of 1992. He also enjoyed crappie fishing on the river and was an active member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anita H. Linton; Sisters Jannelle Linton Avera (Wiley) and Louise Wright; and brother Burley Linton (Shelby); and his two babies, Major and Princess, who served as his constant companions.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harmon E. and Eva Sowers Linton; and brother Lavelle Linton.
Pallbearers will include Steve Horne, Wayne Henson, Charles Stewart, Ricky Ballard, Ricky Roberts, and Chet Parker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Animal Rescue, The Humane Society of Lauderdale County, or charity of choice.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Guests may sign the online register at www.stephensfunerals.com.
