Funeral Services for Mr. Harold Joseph Freeman will be held Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Frank Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Harold Joseph Freeman, 86, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at Andersons Hospital. He was born August 12, 1923 to Josephine Sordet Freeman and Murphy Neal Freeman. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1940. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He completed an apprenticeship as a machinist on the Southern Railroad, later working as a fireman and engineer of the Meridian and Bigbee railroad. He was a gunsmith for many years. He was a brilliant artist working in watercolors, oils and ink. He was self taught musician and photographer. He was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his cousins: Janelle Betbeze Shore of Fort Worth, TX; Arnold Betbeze and wife, Lynn of Okolona, MS; Theresa Anne Betbeze Kemp and husband, Jon of Lincoln, CA.
Pallbearers will be Chester Parker, George Walston, Richard Golf, Peter Nause, Bob Connor and Bob Leo.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital of Memphis, TN or to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
