Mr. Harold B. Thompson
Services for Mr. Harold B. Thompson will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Harrison and Rev. Paul Knight officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thompson, age 88, passed away on January 25, 2011 at Infinity Hospice. Mr. Thompson served in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific. He had worked for AT T for 40 years and after retirement he went to work at Webb Funeral Home assisting directors during visitations and funerals. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and he was a member of Marion United Methodist Church, previous life long member of East End United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eliese Denton Thompson Daughter, Rebecca Keller and her husband Allan of Collinsville, MS Sons, Charlie Thompson and his wife Susan of Indianapolis, IN and E.B. Thompson of Montpelier, LA Three GrandDaughters, Elaine Fulmer and her husband Tony of Front Royal, VA, Frannie Parker and her husband Wade of Quitman, MS and Hollie Hammett and her husband John of Eagle River, Alaska Eight 8 Grandchildren One brother, Sam Thompson and his wife Maxine of Brandon, MS One sister, Louise Mathis of Forest Park, GA Sister in law, Marie Mosley of Jackson, MS Brother in law, Charles Denton of Joliet, IL and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Thompson Brothers, Paul, E.J. and William Thompson Sisters, Inez Satterfield and Eloise Rhodes Fagan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Webb Funeral Home from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aldersgate Chapel Fund, 6600 Poplar Springs Drive, Meridian, MS 39305.
