Graveside services for Hazel Allred will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jessie Napp officiating with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Allred, 73, of Porterville, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy with 31 ancestor medals and Meridian Branch of the Red Hat Society. Known as Miss Hazie to some and Granny to others, she was very generous and had a huge heart, giving all she had to everyone she knew and even to those she didn't know.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Horace E. Allred of Porterville, her daughter, Gloria Young and husband, Bobby of Stafford, VA, her sons, Blane Allred and his wife, Helen of Lenoir, NC and Raymond Allred of Preston, grandchildren Stephanie Laymon and husband. Michael of Stafford, VA, Julie Ramsey and husband, Jason of Eutaw, AL, Tammy Brantley and husband, Gary of Aledo, TX, Leah Holliday and husband, Eric of Preston, Daniel Allred, USMC, Camp Lejune, NC, and Jacob Allred and wife, Crystal of Lenior, NC, nine great-grandchildren, Taylor Morgan, Ben Morgan, Mikaela Laymon, Harley Grace Laymon, Nadia Holliday, Scott Brantley, David Brantley, Sam Brantley, and Layaa Allred.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James V. Hunnicutt and Agnes Eleanor, Chaney Hunnicutt, her sister, Leona Pearl Dickie Holcombe and granddaughter, Casey Burnett.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. BR
