Helen Alexander Pruitt

October 4, 1935 — October 14, 2024

Collinsville

Helen Alexander Pruitt, 89, of Collinsville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born to Joseph Calvin “JC” and Georgia Pearl (Davidson) Alexander on October 4, 1935, at their home in Newton County. On April 27, 1952, joined by a couple of close friends, Helen married the love of her life, David Harold “Dave” Pruitt. While Dave served in the AirForce, he and Helen lived in Wyoming, Alaska, and New Mexico, eventually settling back at home in Lauderdale County to raise their family.

Helen will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a selfless person, always putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own. Helen was a hard worker, taking care of their family farm, tending to the animals and their garden. Helen also enjoyed serving as the manager at “The Club” on the Meridian Air National Guard Base in Meridian, where she made sure her customers were appreciated and well taken care of.  She loved the Lord, animals, children, and her Ole Miss Rebel sports. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Glenda Wooldridge (Danny) and Paula Tisdale (Colton); her son, David Keith Pruitt (Janice); brother, Calvin Lynn Alexander; sister, Betty A. Skinner (Irven); three grandchildren, Todd Pruitt (Beth), Jennifer Wooldridge (Julia), and Sierra Gutierrez; along with three great grandchildren, Kole Pruitt, Bailey Pruitt, and Elijah Wooldridge Rucker; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, JC and Georgia Alexander; her husband, David Harold “Dave” Pruitt; along with her brothers, Edward O’Neal Alexander, Lindberg B. Alexander, and George Dale Alexander.

Graveside Services for Helen will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Suqualena, with Bro. Irven Skinner and Bro. Ron Cooper officiating the service.

Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Jon Skinner, Brad Skinner, Michael Alexander, Josh Sanders, Joe Alexander, and Jeff Alexander.

The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North is grateful for the opportunity to honor Helen’s life and memory and to serve her loving family during this time.
