Herbert Francis

A memorial service for Mr. Herbert M. Francis will be held September 4, 2018, at 11 am at Stephens Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Lanier officiating He will be interred at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Texas at a later date.

Mr. Francis, age 91, of Meridian, passed away August 31 at his home.

Herbert was born and raised in Elkland, Pennsylvania and honorably served his country in the US Navy during WWII. In recent years, he moved to Meridian to be closer to family and was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Philip Francis and his wife, Alice, Michael Francis, Tim Francis and his wife, Barbara, and Richard Francis and his wife, Lisa; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Dale Francis and his wife, Nancy, Jane Nye, Patty Nye and her husband, Virgil and Carol Carey.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Eileen Francis, his son, Danny Francis and his sister, Helen Smith.
