Herman Gully

Funeral services for Herman Gully will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Lynville Methodist Church in Preston. Bro. Chris Gully and Bro. Randy Caldwell will officiate, with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Burial will follow at Lynville Cemetery.

Mr. Gully, age 95, of Preston, passed away July 11, 2018.

Dock was a lifelong resident of the Preston community. He loved his church and cherished his family and friends. He and Juanita enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, horseback riding and working on his farm. Dock was quick witted and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know him.

Mr. Gully is survived by his daughters, Bernadine (James) Shults and Dottie (William) Strait; grandchildren, Justin Strait and Zachary Shults, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Landrum Gully; siblings, Bob Gully, Zee Gully, Frances Gully, Louise Patterson, Earline Bloodworth and Raymond Gully.

Pallbearers will be Justin Strait, Zachary Shults, Roy Peden, Albert Gully, Freddy Gully and Hershel Barefield.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Gully, Tommy Ray Daws and Britt Gully.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dock's special caregiver, Charlene Triplett, for the many years of loving and compassionate care she provided.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his honor to Lynville Methodist Church or Lynville Cemetery.
